Digitalisation

smart world – Guided educator tour

This current special exhibition looks at how artificial intelligence is changing our world. The exhibition investigates what’s behind the magic word “artificial intelligence” and the new world of data.
Guided educator tour
The exhibition and the accompanying educational programme are suitable for pupils from grade 7 upwards. Our guided tours and the workshop provide a basic understanding of the processes behind this technology, which already influences our everyday lives more than we realise. Together with the young people, we reflect on transparency and control in the use of AI. We ask whether AI is diverse, fair and value-neutral.

At the museum, pupils can discover individual applications such as “intelligent” exoskeletons and prostheses or “smart” toilets, and can literally “grasp” how a neural network works. In the workshop, the group examines the tension between social values and technological promises.

We present guided tours and workshops for school classes specially designed for the Smart World exhibition. In this context, we also introduce the educational programme on digitalisation for younger children, which is offered independently of the Smart World exhibition. Robot bees, Ozobots or the LogoRobo workshop – we communicate digitalisation in an age-appropriate and interactive way.

The Technisches Museum Wien (Vienna Museum of Science and Technology) sees itself as a place of learning and discourse that bridges the realms of science, education, economy and society. As part of the guided educator tour, we present our programmes and are also happy to answer any organisational questions about how to prepare for a visit to the museum
